British Columbia Digestive Diseases Weekend 2010 (SOLD OUT)

Introduction

We are very pleased to present our second BC Digestive Diseases Weekend (BCDDW) conference in Victoria. This event has been previously known as the Kelowna Digestive Diseases Weekend (KDDW) hosted and organized by Dr. Craig Render. The Vancouver Island Gastrointestinal Group (VIGI) working in collaboration with Dr. Craig Render will hold this event alternating between Victoria and Kelowna on a yearly basis.

Topics will be presented in both didactic as well as workshop format. This agenda allows ample time for discussion and collaboration with colleagues. Topics are clinically orientated to bring you up to date on current developments in the field of digestive diseases.

Objectives

  • At the end of this program participants should be able to discuss colon cancer screening and treatment advances in Canada, Fatty Liver/ NASH, and alternative medicine in gastrointestinal Intestinal disorders.
  • To provide an opportunity for discussion with colleagues on the latest developments and delivery of GI services in Western Canada and discuss the complication rates of Colonoscopy
  • To update and refresh participants on the latest developments in Colonoscopy performance & CT Colonography, Pouchitis, Biologics in Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's.
  • To identify the important points in management of Pancreatitis, Chronic Active Liver Disease, J-Pouch Procedure, and Achalasia.
  • To review and discuss the management of C Diff Outbreaks on Vancouver Island and in practice.

Credits

This program meets the accreditation criteria of The College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited by the British Columbia Chapter for up to 8 Mainpro-M1 credits.
