Introduction
We are very pleased to present our first Orthopaedic Conference, Hot Topics in Musculoskeletal & Sports Medicine. This conference is designed to update you on the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with sports and musculoskeletal aliments and injuries. The program is case oriented and will utilize didactic lectures, and live instruction in examination techniques and joint anatomy creating an interactive and dynamic learning format. At this event you will be brought up to date on the most current developments in a wide number of areas of Orthopaedic, Sports and MSK/ Rehabilitation Medicine
Objectives
- To discuss and resolve some of your MSK/ Sports and Orthopedic related problem cases with experts and colleagues
- Identify techniques for non-surgical management of osteoarthritis of the knee and hip and review total hip and knee replacement updates
- Diagnosis and treat common tendonopathies
- Perform a physical examination of the foot and ankle and identify appropriate joint injections techniques
- Recognize the top 5 MSK diagnosis and back pain red flags not to miss
- Evaluate and appropriately treat shoulder pain

This program meets the accreditation criteria of The College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited by the British Columbia Chapter for up to 6 Mainpro-M1 credits.
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This program has been reviewed and approved by UBC Division of Continuing Professional Development.
